Good Morning!

Its a new day! Let’s begin at the beginning. Complexion, derma, epidermis, rind, layer, membrane. Wow, many words to describe what holds all of us in. And believe it or not, we shed roughly 40 pounds of it per year. Amazing!

Three keys to success which you will hear me refer to on all health and beauty issues:

  • Balance: We are all different and have different needs for the type of skin we have. Take time and be kind to yourself in building your collection.

  • Consistency: When you discover what is working for you, be consistent. Products evolve your skin over time.

  • Explore: Proceed as Magellan would, and set out on your journey with an open mind, and yet use common sense. Enjoy!

 Morning ritual: WASH

  1. Personally, I shower in the morning. If you are at a sink, take a nice clean wash-cloth and run it under warm water, squeeze out, and press to your face. Do this at least three times.

  2. Squirt a pea-size amount into wet hands and massage all over face, neck, décolletage and ears (easier in the shower!).

  3. Rinse.

I begin with a liquid cleanser. A pea-size amount of what has worked for me for years, Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel. It is phyto-based and Quillaja saponaria, the soap bark tree or soapbark, gives this non-drying cleanser its suds. The bottle lasts a long time (as does most all Dermalogica products). I have begun exploring Senté products, and so far really like them. The washes can be used alone, however I use them to moisten and loosen the top layer of derma in preparation for my second step of my morning ritual, exfoliation, which I will address in a separate post.
