Moisturize
Emerald Ribbon, STE.M photographer
Ahhh, moisturizers… thousands of them to choose from. Some simply offer the skin hydration, others feature wonderful oils to hold in the moisture, still many more are packed with sun-protectants, skin resurfacing agents, regenerative compounds and more. I can only tell you what works for me and what I am trying out now or have as long-standing performers.
Yes, I moisturized after each facial cleansing. And, often I use more than one product in layers. Daytime and nighttime differ for me in approach, just like cleansing. Truly, so many to choose from. The photos, below, are just the tip of the iceberg.
Morning ritual: Moisturize (after cleansing and/or exfoliating)
I use a hydration booster water-gel by ISDIN. It contains hyaluronic concentrate and skin-firming peptides, BioMarine extract and lentil extract which smoothes the pores and gives a more even texture to the skin.
I also reeeaaaalllllyyyy like ISDIN for their vitamin C ampules as a very big splurge.
Now I apply a good eye cream: Epicurean, or La Mer, there are many excellent eye creams.
Then I finish with one of a long list of “top coats” I like: Charlotte’s Magic Cream, or Epicurean’s simply daily moisturizer, or Epicurean’s Colostrum Luminous Glow Cream.
Evening ritual: Moisturize (after using a cream cleanser such as Clarin’s and Clarin’s toner)
I use a simple approach in the evening. Usually just Clarin’s Multi-Active NUIT.
If I am going to specifically target lightening or use some expensive wrinkle cream, I do not want it to rub off on my pillow. In this case I prepare earlier in the afternoon, or on a weekend, instead of right before bed.
